There are a few good spots on pool 14. On pool 14 look for areas that have some current and wood. But you are better off driving an hour and fishing pool 13
There is fishing here, but are backwaters are filling in so bad that fishing is hard to do. You ajust and fine the right spots to do your thing. It could be better.
I have noticed the lack of both water and fish in the backwaters. I have been focusing on the channel with little success. Pool 13 seems to be the local favorite however pool 14 has to hold fish also.
Find any grass or pads and fish them, especially if near deeper water and current. there are fish, its real tough right now. charity tourney 2 weeks ago only took 9 lbs to cash a check, usually that is around 12 lbs. Lots of people blanked as well. There are lots of fish in 14, and lots of them are under 14 inches but still can be fun. pm me if you want more info
As everyone has mentioned, both pools can be good in the spring as evidenced by all of the 20lb bags. The fish are still there, just harder to catch this summer. Siltation in the backwaters is an onging problem. There are places I caught fish 20 yrs ago that are now dry. I’ve done this for so many years that I have the problem of becomming a “spot” fisherman instead of figuring out their movements and patterns. I’d probably do better if I’d let the fish tell me what’s happening and not try to make them bite. Anyway, there are good fish in both pools, look at this as an opportunity to possibly find something going that’s a little different than what we have all done for so many years. Good luck and have some fun.
