Anybody have any guesses as to what this weather front is gonna do to the bite? I was hoping to get out this evening and was thinking that the front could be decent as well as the fact that it was a full moon last night, but a buddy in the cities told me that as soon as the front rolled in, fishing completely stopped. Any ideas?

Fronts do not effect river fish like lake fish. Unless there is a severe cold front but that hardly slows them down. IMO

was out this morning chasing walleyes and it sure slowed things down from monday. 3 walleyes in about 3 hours versus 12 in 4 on monday morning.

Sweet, thanks for the responses guys. I think I’ll probably head out to Pool 8 tonight. Hopefully the top water bit is still on, otherwise, we’ll try some other stuff. Again…thanks much.

I think the mayfly hatch would be more of a affect than this front.
I was out Sunday am and had a blast, rip rap on the outside bends of the river or just with heavier flow on them. Tried a couple of my fav. wing dams without any luck. 1/8 jig with a oystershell paddletail. big game fish of the trip 19 1/2in smallie and a sheephead that pretty much covered the top of my coolor which is 22″ x 16″ fun stuff.

was out last nite for a couple of hours. was looking for some gills on wingdams. Could not keep the bass off my line, lost count on how many i caught. had 2 over the 18 inch mark and others of all sizes. these were all caught on one dam, sure was fun on light tackle. I was using leeches and piece of crawler.–John

The fishing on Pool 8 is going strong. The Bass and Pike have not moved far at all during the fronts. The last few cool early mornings had the bass just to the edge of slop and lily’s laying on the breaks waiting for the sun to come out, by mid day the fish have moved up shallow and feeding in the cover.

I can say the bite has been more aggressive just before the fronts but it hasn’t just died off after the fronts. Slowing down the baits after the fronts has been the ticket for Mike and I to stay in the game.

    Get out and enjoy
