Took my son and his friend out Memorial day morning to pool 5A. We started in the south end of the pool throwing swim jigs and spinnerbaits. The darker colored swim jigs were what they wanted. Emergent pads and pad stems in 2 – 3 feet of water were holding fish. The wind was difficult at times for 3 in the boat, but we managed 16 bass in 3 hours and 15 of the them were over 14″s. Brown\Orange, Black\Blue were the best colors and bumping the pads or stems usually triggered the bites, we fished some rip rap and picked a couple up on tubes green pumpkin, and beavers sprayed grass. Big fish was about 3 1/2 and best 5 would have been around 13. Not a bad way to spend some time with boys.
