I’d have to say that a small worm on a 1/4oz jig, or a small tube or Bitsy Bug jig with a twister tail on it.

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks,

Two schools of thought here, and it depends on conditions…

#1 Goto in the spring… The Smithwick Suspending Rogue.
#2a Standard Mister Twister Jighead with a Single Tail.
#2b Same as #2a but add a spinner blade to it.
#3 A slow-rolled single colorado blade white saftey-pin style spinnerbait.

You are NOT platying nice OnTheWater… making me think about Spring fishing already… Its plain mean… Okay… been thinking about it since Thanksgiving!!! Come on Spring!!!!

Hmmm… is it actually “officially” winter yet?

I love spinnerbaits in spring ….they always seem to produce for me….I typically use a gold willow leaf/silver colorado blade combo in a white color. It’s smart to throw on a small leader if you can because i tend to get a lot of northerns mixed in.

Reel Guy, Unfortunately for you….spring won’t be here for quite some time….and for those of us who DO THINK ICE FISHING IS FISHING!!!…it will tide us over until spring does show up….

I will go Ice-fishin with you… It will be my first time since I was 8 years old…

So, do we drill a bunch of holes and then stand back 30 ft and pitch and/or flip our jigs to these holes/spots? Seems like that might be fun…

never tried that….i prefer to stay in the warmth of my Shanty….you can learn a lot from watching fish come up to your bait…then watch them swim away…Teaches you alot about presentation….
