It’s tournament season on pool 4 so I can’t say too much except The bite starting to happen! I spent today scouting areas for a guide trip on Wednesday. By hopping around the pool the difference in water temperature is very apparent. I saw a range of 46 thru 53 degrees and as you might guess the biting fish are in the warm water. This 21.75” 6 lb largemouth came on a swimjig fished in last years vegetation in a dark bottom area. A fish this size is rare in our part of the Mississippi River. For reference the board this fish is on is 22.5” long.

The second best fish of the day was a male smallie that measured just under 20″.

Heading down to pool 4 on Thur. I sure hope we can find a few of those. Nice fish. If you are fishing the tourney this weekend – Good luck to you. It sure would be nice to have a kicker fish like that one on tourney day.

nice fish! that head sure looks wierd compared to its body. can defnitally tell it is healthy. sometimes its the opposite, big head and a small body when they arent eating well.
    tournys start this saturday!
