    Went out this afternoon dispite the howling winds. Sometimes it was blowing so hard I was afraid of falling out of the boat. I was able to find a couple calm areas and picked up the first open water bass of the season. A 4+ pound smallie. Only fish that made it to the boat with a few missed bites. I had a thick layer of rust to get out.

    I’d say thats a good way to start the year….i would think that one might even get a little more than the rust off huh?

    I’d be more leary of low overhanging tree branches!

    I caught her in pool 8 backwater near goose with a black n blue jig.

    She was in 10ft of water near structure.
