I hope I am wrong but since the Mississippi does not border any states in central MN normal inland water regulations apply as far as seasons go?

Yes. You would have to go FAR south by Red Wing for different seasons. The central MN area of the river is the same as inland waters.

Wouldn’t the different seasons start at Prescott, where the river becomes the border????
Derek HansonPosts: 592February 26, 2009 at 3:23 am #752587Possibly, main point was that central MN part of the river has the same season as inland waters. I just used Red Wing as an example as being further south, nothing more.
February 26, 2009 at 3:42 am #752595No problem, BM. I just wanted to make sure you hadn’t made those folk fishing between Prescott and Red Wing nervous.
February 27, 2009 at 12:26 am #752992I was thinking was one of the pools up around the citys catch and release only and dose that go year round.
thanks
February 27, 2009 at 9:31 pm #753274Bass (All fish for that matter) are C&R 365 days a year on Pool 2. This is the streach of Mississippi River downstream from the Ford Dam and Upstream from the Hastings Dam. This includes all connecting backwaters.
