since we were discussing Rapala type baits, I picked up a “salmo” minnow ( at least that’ the name I believe it is) and it has unique action that it “backs up” on a twitch.. I have used it a few times with out success and I was wondering if anyone else has one and likes it and how you use it..

it’s shape is more of a arched or curved shape then a straight minnow lure.. from the peak of the back to the nose it a steep angle as opposed to straight..and the bill seems almost part of the angle..

this has been good discussion so far on the shell beds and the

Salmo makes a “chubby darter” that I use frequently for ice fishing eyes and trout. It is one of my favorite go to lures, with a unique action unlike a jiggin rap for example. Have not thrown the minnow, but if it produces like the darter I would not be afrraid to pick up a handfull.

GARVI, plan on using them in areas with no current. I have about 6 of them and they aren’t for fishing on the river.

What is the problem with current I thought with the 5/8 weight they would work vertical, I might have just wasted $17.50
Have you tried ripping them over the wing dams ?

Maybe you bought different Darters than I did. Mine are about 3″ long. In the current they weren’t heavy enough. Hopefully yours will be.

I haven’t given them any time since pulling my hair out with them through the ice.

Fleck, more times than not, in the channel on Pepin and Chequamegon Bay, I have one down the hole. Some pretty good current on both waters. Never had a problem. They will always be a part of my box.

    FYI
I was just on their website and noticed they have some specials on most crankbaits, when you click on the type of bait it will tell you the special they have on it.
