Friday was great, warm temps and no wind. The pool 5 LM were on fire in the veg. To my surprise was how good the wing dam top-water bite was. At 51 degree water I had about a dozen LM and SM on the spook. 
I had to change the tempo to a slow wide walk to get em to go but it worked. The one in the net was pushing 5 lbs and was 30 yrds below the dam in open water. I saw a feed and expected it to be a white bass. She must have been running shad away from the dam. This year is stacking-up as my best big smallie fall ever.
