I went to pool 5A on Saturday with my nephew.. This was the pool that my friend who had the heart attack and I had fished for years..
well a couple of things happened. ONE I found a spot that I never new existed.. and I was shocked by the change in one area of the pool.
We ended up with about 15 bass but only two keepers.. a largemouth and a 19 inch smallie..
but there was one area of the pool that my best friend and I had fished for years.. and its completely changed..
I got extremely emotional.. Here he is struggling to regain his memory and his health.. and now an area that we both considered one of our best areas in the country didn’t really exist any more.. I could call him, but I really don’t know if he would remember…
My wife said it like this.. at least Bill is still with us and not in the ground.. so in that respect, you can still talk to him about fishing..
but in 30 years of fishing together, things are changing.. and will never be the same..
on another note.. I had 65 lb braid sliced by some behemouth.. either a big pike or a big dog fish.. what ever it was, it hit on a short line and sliced that braid.. never have had braid cut ever.. but that too has changed..
