Need some info as to what everyone does with their boats when winterizing. I fog the motor, Change oil in the lower unit, Charge batteries, Disconnect the speedometer and water pressure guage and blow the lines out with air from the guages back to motor, and put antifreeze in the livewell drains.
Someone told me it wasn’t necessary to disconnect the guages and blow out the lines. What is your opinions on this? Is there something else some of you do?

    You nailed it!

Wouldn’t change a thing. I will say, I usually neglect the anti-freez step, however, and haven’t had any problems yet on my 10 year old boat…

Antifreeze is such a pain to deal with – I started sucking the lines out with a shop-vac. Jon Jordan posted something on one of the other forums a few weeks back, maybe a search would turn it up. He has a very extensive list of all the good stuff you’re supposed to do including trailer tips.

Jon posted a great article in the general discussion forum under the boat winterizing post. It has everything you need to know.

Thanks Guys. I found Jons article. Sounds like I’m doing just fine.
