I know we are a little far north to find one of these but this was a very interesting article about a Missouri state record for this rare fish.

Not sure how many of you have caught Kentucky spotted bass but pound for pound I think they fight harder than smallies. This cross bread would be a fun fight I am sure.

Hmmmm . . . . do you think that they would make it in the river ???

I am quite sure, the first flood of the area will start the spread. Its only a matter of time.

Should make it in the river but maybe not this far north. The KY and the Smallie are river fish but the Kentucky doesn’t like long winters so it is hard to say.

If you look at the overall range of both fish I don’t think the northern climate will have any effect on these. I could be wrong but we have Kentucky bass in a lake not more than 15 miles from where I am sitting.

I didn’t know you called your aquarium a lake.

Hey, How do you think I report on all these fish I catch.
Actually Lake McBride has plenty of them. Most people don’t even know they are in there.

In our last club tourny we had at Mcbribe I caught a spot that was better than 3lbs. Thats been a few years back but they do have some nice ones there.

Just coming back from the BFL Regional in Arkansas I finally saw the so called mean mouth. Very hard to know the difference. The local I fished with the las day caught one and did not knot it either. Looks like a Smallie. And the size limit is the same as LM and SM.. Just ask Steve Simmer… Hey won’t be long before we have the walleyes crossin with the saugers…hmm…maybe we do……..
