Fishing pool 8 yesterday, looking for walleyes. While moving about looking for some action on wingdams, seen some very aggresive fish working an area about 300 feet in between two wing dams. Moved into the area and started throwing skitter-pops for the surface fish. Instant white bass action. Tried a shad plastic body on a 3/8 oz jig head and got into some nice smallmouth that were working the bait fish from below. Looked like the white bass and smallmouth were working the same school of baitfish, and were trying to drive the baitfish towards shallow water. Had smallmouth up to 3+ lbs. aggressivily hitting the plastic bodies for about 45 minutes. The action quit as quickly as it had begun, just happened upon that feeding frenzy by accident.

I’ll be looking for those signs next time i’m out…. IF i get time between fishing, bow hunting, and now turkey hunting, my weeks are getting busy!!!
