I got up really early this morning and headed out to Spring Lake looking for clean water. I found it. The day turned out to be really good even with the wind blowing 15-25mph. We ended up with 15 keepers and 10 short fish. We also picked up 4 northerns and a dog fish as well. Our biggest five fish limit would have been about 20 pounds. We found a nice group of females that had not spawned yet.
Most of the fish we caught came on spinnerbaits (any color) and we got a few flipping and a few on frogs. We found some really clean water in the back of Spring lake were you could see a few fish on beds but we could not get them to bite. Water temps fell 3-4deg while we were fishing. The started out almost 67 and were down to 63 when we left.
My brother fished Millers landing yesterday and got a limit in there as well.
