Just a quick update on Pool 7. I have been able to get out for a few hours on Friday as well as today.
Friday was the better of the days for me. The water temps were 59 degrees on Friday and the fish were pretty active. I landed quite a few sub-legal fish on a Rattle Trap and a custom colored spinnerbait. I was able to land a half dozen or so keeper fish with the biggest that I weighed going 2.8#. The bigger fish came from deeper water on a jig-n-pig.
Today, the water temp had dropped to 48 degrees to start off the day. But, the fish were reacting to a jig again, but the numbers weren’t there for me. I ended up with 3 fish today, but they were all legal. Trying to find a place to fish today was the challenge. Between the Spring Fling, another tourney out of Pools 6 and 7, and people pre-fishing for the BFL, open real estate was hard to come by. The good thing was it forced me to fish new areas that I have passed by many times. It didn’t produce any more fish though. By the end of the day, the water temps climbed back into the mid to upper 50’s. Another big difference today was the water clarity and the amount of debris in the water.
I have a few random pics, but they are not the best. Someday I am going to have to figure out if I have a timer on one of my cameras and then see if I can round up a tripod. Having a fishing partner is pretty much non-existant so having a camera man is not an option.
