Tonight I decided to forget about the rain and head out to 8 anyway. I have been so sick of the not getting out fishing. Tonight was my second bass outing of the year. We went out and hit up some shallow water areas with some wood that were reasonably close to deep water. The water temps were around 50. At that temperature I prefer to cast spinners for that chance at a big GATOR. Right away we caught about a 25inch norther. Then about 30 minutes later my spinner bait gets smoked and I feel good weight but the fish is just making a long straigh run, I holler out “nice norther” and seconds later as were both keeping our eyes on the line this big mama comes up and waves her mouth at us. All i said was, “O my god” a couple good runs later she floped in the net. My scale and tape were in my tackle box so no dimensions on er.

What do you think cade…bout 7lbs?

really though… i know it was way over 4, but couldn’t be much over five. so i’m calling it 5 cuase i think she was plus or minus pretty close to that.

ended up with two bass and one gator, the other bass was a 2.5 lber. Sllooowwwww roll that spinner bait though
