I made it out today and fished spring lake. The weather was better the forcasted and I was happy to have the day off. I started fishing around 8:30 near the eagles cut. I got a nice 14.5″ bass off some brush in the water. A couple cast later I missed a fish on a spinnerbait. I moved back into some cuts that I have never fished until today (the higher water helped). While in the first cut I pulled a 3.5 pounder on my 3rd cast and then about 10 min later I got a short fish. I followed the cut back into a smaller cut (about twice as wide as my boat). In that cut I got another short fish and kept going. That small cut opend into a nice pocket. First cast inside the pocket I got a 14″ bass with a big old gut. I cast right back into that same spot and was given a 4+ pound bass with a huge gut as well. The pocket then turned ugly when I noticed all the carp and gar every place. I worked out of that area into another small pocket were I picked up another short fish out of some dead reeds.
Water temps in my best areas were 60.1. All my fish except for the last one came on a clear and purple spinnerbait that had some green flash to it. The last fish came on a blue and black buzzbait
It was a great day to be out the hard rain did not really start until I was getting ready to take off.
