Sunning

On the first sunny calm day of spring I see the same situation. The bass are sunning themselves and are not interested in biting. I was in a community hole on pool 4 and for 5 hours all I did was watch bass high on wood or roaming the shallows. The fish are super spooky and run from a cast over their head or any kind of splashdown. On several fish I was able to cast over a limb and lower a jig right on their nose with no reaction. I even tied up a super long dropshot, cast onto shore and pull Superdoo, but not the sinker into the water and danced it in place with no results. I ended the day with 2 bass, one by accident on a crappie jig. The good news is I know where there is a bunch of bass and they will bite the next time.

    Have you had this experience?
