I didn’t get out, but some body here had to get into them over the weekend. not any bass Friday, Saturday, Sunday?
I find that some what hard to believe. Not saying that it couldn’t happen, but with the weather, is that the case?

I didn’t get out this weekend either But if the weather cooperates this coming weekend I’ll be out there and I’ll be sure to let you know how I do. I’m thinking pool 4 is the place to go, but I’ve never fished it so it’ll be a good learning experience if nothing else!

Some of the areas I wanted to get into were still iced. I did mangage to attract a couple of walleye anglers who saw our rods bending over a few times and were curious as to what we where catching. Had to fish slower than I would have liked though.

If you can teach me to get the largemouth to bite in 45 degree avg water temps consistently, I might be able to land one

I did get out on Sunday from 9-2 and we had 2 half hearted bites, but no fish. The main channel is still in the upper 30’s for temps and backwaters were slowly warming up, but with this cool weather pattern upon us now, I am pretty sure that will slow down

We were able to tap into a few this past weekend.
Friday a few by Alma on the end of wingdams.
Saturday I hit some on a backwater that warms pretty quick.
I was with my young kids, 9 and 5 and they broke the ice first using some flukes. Then dad got his turn with 9 total. Swim bait and stick bait was the ticket.
Also a bonus pike who was not hooked he just refused to let the bait go. Tough son of a bucks that is for sure.

From what I saw Sunday on my way home, Pepin still has a lot of ice on it.

Wow, after reading the above posts, I have come to a conclusion. Before I just thought I sucked at fishing, now I KNOW without a doubt I suck at catching bass in cold water. Better hang up the gear now before I make a fool out of myself anymore
