I will be fishing out of Prarie Du Chien pool this weekend for our clubs annual “Classic”. Talk has it that the tourny will be won on pool 9. I would appreciate any feedback from the board on this. I will be on pool 9 Thurday morning with an open seat if anyone wants to go. Will probably put in at Lansing unless there is a good ramp south of town somewhere. Thanks in advance, Dave

Dave,
Go into greymore and fish the remaining pads with a jig and spinnerbait. The shallower better looking pads will be holding fish right now. Even the stickups left from the pads will hold fish. I think your tournament will be won out of 10 based on my trip last weekend. more time = more bites!
jcSeptember 22, 2003 at 5:58 pm #260249Since my trip to pool 10 Sunday was not what I expected, I can at least eliminate water for you. The wing dams on pool 10 are not nearly as giving as the wing dams on pool 9. We fished them hard early and late with no luck. (at least anything over 1-1/2 lbs.) We also tried tackling the main channel rip rap with the same results. The only place I would suggest checking out while prefishing is down by the canoe trail. The whole east rock bank was very productive. We caught our share and saw others catching fish as well. Good luck with your tourney.

This link will show you a map of Prairie and south. The canoe trail i’m talking about is on the east side. (Wisconsin side). Enter the slough at Day Marker 626.7L on the map. The slough heads north up to a public landing. From right where you enter all the way up to just past the ramp is wood on one side & Rip rap on the other. If you need further help, Send me a private message.
BassRatPosts: 12September 24, 2003 at 5:44 pm #258490re I would agree with Jeremy Gremore lake area is a good place to fish. Also just north of the Lakeside bar and grill there are some small jetty’s on the east side that hold Bass.If the owners are sitting outside be sure and ask them if it is ok to fish them.I asked and they said I was one of the few that had ever asked them and they said go right ahead.Heck they even gave me some pointers also. Also if your heading south on the east channel and go up to-wards Greymoore if you stay to your right and fish back by where the barges unload.(I forget the name of the area)It has always been good for me.I hope I have also been of some help.I try and fish that area as much as possible as I have a trailer by Clayton Ia.I will be up there this weekend fishing also.I have a 2000 Tracker Proteam 185 with a merc on the back with no decals except the front and back.Maybe I’ll see you there. And Good luck. P.S There will be a open tourney going out of Lansing this weekend also.
September 24, 2003 at 6:49 pm #258427That would be the sand pit where the barges load. And your correct, the north east corner of sand pit can be very productive.
