    MTN Man.
Are you trying to bait me into something with the no cull comment. I think the guys with 26lbs will be culling. I have fished enough tournaments to know that the WI culling rule makes cheaters out of almost everyone.

Right or wrong, wether you like it or not, culling is something that happens in Bass tourneys. I think it would be less of a problem if all the tourneys were where you would draw a partner like the BFL. That’s why I believe it doesn’t happen so much in the Walleye circuits because partners are drawn. As it is that won’t happen ANYTIME soon in Bass tourneys.

Don’t think we should start the culling conversation again…

I agree. Let’s stick to the ‘mission statement’ of the Bass Forum.

“Nothin’ but bass talk here! Swap info or pick up tips on how to consistently catch largemouth and smallmouth bass.”

With just THAT in mind… anyone been out this week?

Was the Tuesday nighter still “on” last night?

    Anything to report?

My emotions right now, as I mentally prepare for Saturday…

I’m guessing all the nightly tourneys are done for the season. Pete’s Bar is done with theirs as well as Tri-State in La Crescent. We were out looking for bait for a walleye friend and didn’t see any boats out. Our truck was the only one at the Dresbach Landing.

Not-Sober-Fest starts this weekend! Bring on the beer and brats. That should fix your emotional state of mind.

Yeah… I fish the Frenzy with my Dad, while my mom and wife take my boy to the parade! Man, I arranged a good one there!

Then, we all get to go “Festing”… Maybe my boy ought to see what Octoberfest is all about!

People are still out in the evenings… you can’t tell me they are all pan-fisherman… some of them have to be Bass guys and some of them have to read this… what did you find out there guys!?

I was out last night, and it was SLOW. 2 fish. Saw two boats of guys out checking duck spots, and that was pretty much it for other guys I saw fishing.

Actually the last part of the hint was more telling. “It could happen” hinting someone we know might be following those kind of fish around.

Speaking of which today with customer from Madison we caught 10 keepers in about 6 hours, of which 7 were that scarey 14.1 inch and then three “nice ones” one of which almost weighed more than 4 of the others combined. Altogether over 30 fish 13″s and bigger . I sure hope they make it through the winter.

Mtn Man… this quote because you are actually concerned about them surviving fo some reason?

Or, is it more along the lines of… “They will be keepers next year!”

23 hours and counting… FIRE IT UP! Get those engines running… almost time to F-L-Y!

Yesterday, AM, I went out… tough conditions: 37 degrees, 20 MPH winds… fishing was tough, too. I don’t beleive in my heart of hearts that you will need >20 lbs to win with the front moving through, expected winds and cold, and potential rain… I will be out there trying, though!

I was out for most of the day yesterday. Nothing to report though . I did get a chance to see the DNR shocking fish yesterday. That was kind of cool. We pulled up near them and watched for a few minutes. Some nice carp if anyone is interested. Also, when coming back to the landing (at copeland where we launch), I saw a guy take a keeper bass from the pier across from the launching pad on a bobber and worm. Maybe that’s the ticket for tomorrow!! , So if you feel inclined to fish that pier..go ahead GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! DRESS WARM!!!

You guys have fun sifting through all that water hoping for a quality bite. I decided fishing this last tourney wasn’t in my best interest. Time to repay a roofing debt. I’ll be throwing shingles on my cousin’s house.

If you guys really want to pound your chest about bragging rights, let’s have our own In-Depth Angling Bass Tourney. Next weekend?

If you guys are interested, we were going to have one on the 11th out of pool 4. Bring Cash in the morning, $300 per team. Let me know if you might like to do that.

I think trying to set something up for next year would be fun. Maybe try and fish each pool? at least once. At least the ones we’re all based around….Thoughts?
