The Weekend Series encourages boaters and non-boaters to link, prior to the tournament. The advantage of this is that both parties are then guaranteed that they will be matched as a boater or non-boater. Contestants who are linked, do not fish together. You can prefish together, but your not fishing partners on the day of the event. If you are not linked and more boaters register then non-boaters, you might end up being matched to another boater. With the $5,000 1st place guarantee, you don’t want this to happen to you. And if you are an un-linked non-boater, you may find yourself sitting on shore.
When you link, it is for each tournament. So, linking for the first event doesn’t mean you are linked for the year. You need to make sure that both you and the other person are linked for each tournament
