So, help me out… is it strange that the channel is at 73 degrees and the backwaters are at 69 degrees?

12 days ago, the backwaters were almost 82 degrees and the channel was running around 80… how does this affect the fish? And, is this normal? Seems rather drastic in the drop.

I bow to all the knowledgeable people out there that will share…

    ReelGuy,
The cool nights of late have cooled off the shallow backwater areas due to the reduced or absence of flow and less volume/depth to cool down. In addition, some of the submergent and emergent aquatics are singing their respective swan songs and creating heat as they decompose. Good news, bad news, less oxygen, cooler temps but good news in that the invertebrates living comfortably in the thick vegetation are now starting to lose their happy and safe homes so fish will be feeding and shad will be coming back in looking for a meal also.
