The only way I could see it being cancelled is if they no-waked the river which I don’t think they will but I bet these guys would know—– either Randy Eddy Jr. at 608-792-6878 or Tim Johnson at 608-792-6070

I spoke with Randy tonight. The show will still go on. Too many issues to change it now. Good luck to all fishing.

Was out on pool 8 yesterday looking for cleaner backwater areas and didn’t find any. Water is so high right now that pretty much everywhere has current and about 3 inches or less of visibility. Water temps are not that great either. One of the back channels I was in had a 69 degree water temp…I’m no expert but I’m think’n that’s not good.

I was out on Wednesday, and caught two three pound largemouth on a ribbit. Both the fish just pasted the bait. I think the fish are still in a feeding mode, but they have repositioned themselves out of the current.

I probably caught ten fish with only those two being keepers, but if you can find the cleaner water in the area, you will find the fish. All the cleaner water that I found had been filtered out by the lake.

Good luck to those fishing the MSBC

What were the weights like? Lots of LM or were there a lot of mixed bags? I didn\’t see a lot of boat activity on the main channel of pool 7. The lake should have been fairly clean.

18 boats locked up to 7… the fog was unbelieveable, not sure ANY of us should have been driving… but we all safely made it! Once the lock opened, the boats fanned out pretty well. I believe there were 45+ boats, and I do know that some locked to 9… THAT would have been a long run in the fog!

Winning bag was 24+ pounds, 8 fish with a 4.4 kicker, I believe. 4 smallies and 4 largies. Team of Fitzpatrick and Tauscher. We locked up with them, and down again at noon… should have followed them!

We struggled with 4 weighed in and a 4 pound kicker… we caught 42 bass and 2 northern, just no size to the bass… the northern were sizeable, though! Toughest part, is our 5th fish was a spunky smallie that flipped off the deck back into the river….

That taught me a valuable lesson, for sure! As did the schooling by the locals finest anglers… The MSBC is a well run circuit, with some *reel* good sticks. Way to go gentlmen!

That\’s a big bag. Congrats to the winners.

Running to 9 in the fog ain\’t much fun.

I got a run down of it all.

1st place with a check of $2,336.00, Matt Fitzpatrick and Chris Tauscher. They brought in a limit of 4 smallies and 4 largemouth weighing 24.92 lbs. They caught their fish along weed lines with spinnerbaits and swim jigs in clean water.

2nd place was Dan Thill and Jim Johnson with another mixed sack, going 23.14 lbs. They earned $1,192.00.

3rd place was Jeff Kerska and Leroy Kerska with 22.56 earning $894.00. They were junk fishing rocks, sand, and weeds with rat-l-traps.

Big bass came from Brad Kauffman and Dale Borrison. That fish was a 4.66 largemouth caught on a buzzbait. $410.00

I was pretty surprised at the weights, all things considered. However there were many people that struggled. I saw a lot of —– marks up on the board..
