WTG guys! Who do I pay to get either one of you as a boater?
Let me know if either one of you need a prefishing partner for LAX the Friday before. I can make arrangements to leave early in the AM, to at least catch some fish on the weekend! Shaking off a fish should come easy after today’s debacle.
August 12, 2007 at 3:02 am #599158Nice job guys!
Slop…pm me with the problem with a “tounge” hooked fish…I’m always learning.
August 12, 2007 at 11:45 am #599171Hey Slop if you take some rejuvinate that you put in your live well and put some directly into the fishes mouth, the fish will do just fine 80% of the time. Was told this by a local angler here in the Madison area. Try it
August 12, 2007 at 1:02 pm #599176Nice job Tim and Slop, and also to Jason(CHAMP193)who finished just behind Slop. Pretty good showing from the IDA
contingent.August 12, 2007 at 6:38 pm #599235Thanks guys! It was really a great day of fishing. Caught a ton of fish, a lot of small ones.
way to go Sloppy and everyone else that cashed!
I actually caught two Gar’s last week, one in the tournament.
August 13, 2007 at 9:36 pm #599632good job guys..I found the fishing a little tough with all that wind…lots of bites but I couldn’t hook anything…The first 5 casts I had 5 bites and didn’t get a single fish into the boat…I managed to eek out a limit throughout the day until weigh in where my co dumped my bag of fish on the back deck of the boat and a 2.5 went through the jack plate. Ended up with 4 fish for 9 lbs. I wouldn’t have cashed with that fish, but it sure would have felt good to weigh in a limit.
August 13, 2007 at 10:52 pm #599663Oh man, I would have felt awful!!!
Maybe that’s why in some tournaments, only you can handle your own fish…
BTW, wasn’t that fish 5 lbs?
Congrats Slop and Tim!

August 14, 2007 at 8:20 am #599775Either of you care to share a little of how your bite went(of course not locations)? I’m struggling now and blaming it on all of the baitfish available to the bass . Did you both lock up or stay aroung PdC?
BTW my father-in-law has his pontoon at the weigh-in site and has seen about a dozen dead bass the last two days. Did they release some in the slough this year?
August 14, 2007 at 1:02 pm #599812I caught all my fish in slight current. Sand points with weeds on them. Watch for the fish to be chasing minnows. I stayed on 10.
I believe they released the fish out past the barges somewhere as that is where I saw the release boats come back from.
August 14, 2007 at 1:18 pm #599819My Pattern was almost identical to Tim’s. Sandy Weed edges and even the open water around them. I stayed on 10 as well. My bait of choise was “scary” <hint hint>
I was hoping the storms would roll in like they did and it worked out good for me, but I caught fish all day long. Never moved off a 70 yrd stretch.
August 14, 2007 at 1:39 pm #599827I like Slop caught some fish on top water. Other than that, C-rig and Jerk Shad!
The other bait that was on fire in the weeds was a 1/4 White Brovarney swim jig!
August 15, 2007 at 2:19 am #600112Thanks for throwing some of your insights toward us weekend fishermen. Even though it is my home water I have been stuggling and I think I get stuck in a rut of “what was working last week” . It’s good to know that there are nice fish to be had. I’ve never seen the fishery better and each of the last 4 or 5 years have been increasingly the best I’ve had . Thanks again for letting us know what worked for you and good job .
August 15, 2007 at 1:05 pm #600206That was the first time I had ever been on pool 10. What a great place. The river from atleast pool 4-10 that I have been on are tremendous fisherie’s.
