Have you tried the “New” Gatortail-type worms from Zoom and Berkley? I know you are a big fan of the old ones, and was just wondering if you’ve had time to try the new products.

I haven’t seen any in the La Crosse area yet. Maybe I’ve looked by them. I have to believe they should work just as well.

When Berkley stopped making the 6″ Flip’tail, I panicked!
I bought every Black, Green Pumpkin, Blue Fleck, and Tequila
Sunrise I could find anywhere, at any price. Now I see
that Berkley came out with a new version. As soon as I find
some I will give them a try, but for now, I have a few
stashed away in the tackle shop.

Hmmm, how much you looking for on the resale to me???? Are they the 7 inch or 5?

    Tom:

I haven’t found them anywhere local so I haven’t tried them yet. I should just break down and order some on-line I suppose. July-August is always when I had my best luck on Gator Tails, so I suppose I better get cracking. If you want to split some on an order I am up for it!

I have tried the Mann’s Hardnose worm with the sickle tails. I like them, but they are too thin and don’t have the bulk of a 7 inch Gator Tail. That is kinda why I was waiting to see the Zoom ones, see how thick they are, tough to tell from the pictures. Haven’t seen the Berkley ones locally either.

I am also a fan of the old gator tails and have a few left in black-blue tail. I never want to use them but in a bigger tourney one of these days ill break them out. The older berkeley are slightly smaller than the new ones, and the zoom are like the old 7″- very big and big tail! Zoom actually makes a g-tail ringer that is about a 4″ ring worm with a gator tail that I have but have not used.

I searched gator tail last winter and found the site, looks like the company is for sale. Blue- how bout dropping some cash and starting it back up??? You will have a customer for life here and sounds like in other places.
