Lead when Texas, some times Tungsten

I have yet to really use tungston. I tried it on a texas rigged tube and had issues with hookups but I can’t say for sure that I wasn’t just to quick on the trigger with the extra sentitivity.

for anything over a 1/4 ounce or so, I like to use tungsten because its a much more compact weight when I am texas rigging. I use a lot of the heavier tungsten (1 ounce) and those things look ridiculous in lead. For riggin, I use strictly brass just because of the cost factor

Well I’m glad that im not the only one still using Lead and Brass. I suppose we all get set in our ways and use what we have confidence in.

I have a better feel of the bottom content with tungsten than lead or brass and like it better for both C-rigging and T-rigging. I also can tell the difference between coontail and milfoil with tungsten. The cost is more and the weights are smaller so they are sometimes more apt to snag but all things considered I like tungsten.

Brass on C-rigs. Tungsten mostly for Texas rig. I really like flipping with Tungsten. The feel of flipping structure is better.

I do not use tungsten for c-rigging because I believe the smaller profile actually hurts you in this situation. The lead doesn’t hang up as much and stirrs up more junk.

In fact, I use to prefer the big ole steel weights because of their bigger profile…

I have to add the Lindy No-Snagg sinker. It’s the only thing I’ve found I can C-rig on Lake Pepin’s shore lines.

Brass for c-rigs. Sometimes brass and glass(bead) for clicking TX rigs and tungsten for small profile in grass

I was watching/reading Bassmasters a few weeks ago and one of the guys was saying that tungsten has more flaws and is more likely to cause line damage.

With all the northerns around….I don’t like to spend to much on sinkers.
