I am going to be fishing Pool 9 this weekend with a friend. It is my first time to the river. My friend and I mainly fish for LM and SM. I was wondering if anyone has some good advice on where one might go or what to look for, and the other is what lures or techniques are working well. Also if there are any specific colors that work well this time of year. Like I said this is my first trip to the River so I would appreciate some advice if anyone has any. Thanks!!

I have looked at some of the other posts! I did get some info from them, but was looking for more. Alot of post don’t say any specific color or lures that work well. I was just looking for info or techniques. As far as areas I have a pretty good idea on what to look for, just asking for some extra help if anyone has any advice! thanks

If your looking for numbers I would stick to backwater. As hard as the water has dropped I was suprised to find so many LM in areas that have lost 3-4 foot of water over the last couple of weeks and about 2 feet in the last week. Last night I caught at least 35 bass from 5-9PM and it literally didn’t seem to matter what piece of plastic I threw at them. I just drove around the river and watched for them busting the surface and stopped and fished them until they stopped biting. They were definitely zeroing in on food, because I caught them above much, sand, and rock bottom. The one other similarity was some size lumber close by. Didn’t have to be much size to the wood either. I started with a Texas rig with a slimy worm and after they tore the tail off or jerked it so hard it was on “WACKY” I threw back and they kept on biting. The fish were from 10-16 inches until just before 9:00 when I got two large fish to bite. Most of the info on larger fish seems to have slop involved , but I’m sorry I haven’t a clue what they were using for sure. Good luck at the tourney.
