First fish he ever reeled in and dragged over the side of the boat himself. I was as excited as having a 5 pounder on the line. And just to keep it on topic for the forum, his first bass too.

    Dan,
Looks like a great time on the water.

Sure looks like the next 50 or more years with the two of you sharing some REAL time together…
    Congrats,
    Jack..

This is what fishing is all about.

He is a lucky kid to have a father like you to show him the ropes.

Thanks alot fellas, the other cool thing was my dad went with us as well, so we had 3 generations in the boat at the same time. He was all pumped up this morning to tell his daycare lady that he went fishing with daddy and grandpa and caught fish!

That is awesome Dan! Looks like he had a blast…I know the feeling of them catching their first fish on their own! A moment you will relive over and over again! And pictures to share for a live time…well done!

It sure is…on Reel Guys scale!

Looks like the little man had fun…that’s enough to make any Dad happy!

I took my father out yesterday and totally forgot to grab the camera. We boated quite a few nice largemouth and did it using my Dad’s favorite lure…a scum frog. I couldn’t get him to take a break all day.

I figured it was pushing 3………..

That’s cool about your dad, my dad loses interest in bass fishing real fast, he’d much rather soak a worm for gills.

Thanks for sharing Dan, those are some great pics and you and grandpa have every right to be proud.

Another cool thing is those memories will stick with your kids for years as well. I rarely get to fish with my daughter, but she fishes with her son and boyfriend often, and is constantly reminding me of fish she remembers, or things she remembers from our times together years ago.

I’m waiting to sign him up until he can go more than 10 minutes straight “just fishing”. There was alot of looking in the livewell, playing with the anchor rope, stuffing tubes down the pedestal holes, etc. to get in the way right now.

I think we could sew two of the Spderman jackets together to make one big one for you Dan.
