Spent last week fishing in the Everstart tournament in Detroit, MI. Great time, and definately a great learning experience. After day 1, I was in 1st place with 17lbs, but had some bad luck on day 2 and only caught 2 fish. I had the fish that would have helped me make the top 20 cut, but it got wrapped up in a drift sock and broke off with only about an hour to go before weigh-in. Still managed to get a nice check for 33rd place. I was absolutely amazed by the size of the smallmouth in Lake Erie. I always thought the smallies on the upper mississippi were the strongest fish I’d seen, but these erie smallies are like footballs!
