North of the Coon Rapids Dam

    I am new to fishing rivers for smallmouth and wondering if the stretch of the river north of the Coon Rapids dam is worthwhile and what I should be looking for besides the current breaks? Do the same techniques that work on lakes work here also? Any help would be appreciated.

    How far North? I fish from Dayton to St Cloud. The Smallie action can be awsome. If you would like more info, send me a pm.

    I fish primarily from the dam to Elk River. If you want to pick my brain send me a pm. I can give you some general techniques and areas to try. Otherwise just get out there and fish. Lots of opportunities on this strech of river.
