BROVARNEY BAITS will no longer use Hook adaptors

Given the uncontrollable variations in quality by the manufactures of hook adapters that we were using in the production of our swim jigs we will no longer be using hook adapters with Gamakatsu Round bend worm hooks in our 1/4 oz through 7/8 oz swim jig line.

We have decide to make the leap and improve the quality of our products by commissioning a 28 degree hook from Gamakatsu that maintains the true running action of our swimjig line while supplying a factory tempered Black nickel steel hook that had the sticky sharp factory point and the durability that could only come from a factory tempered hook.

We briefly pondered using standard hooks and heating them to modify the bend. Unfortunately that process while much less expensive jeopardized hook strength. We would have traded one problem for another.

The only way to insure a strong sharp hook was to have one made that would meet the expectations of our customers. It is probably the worst kept secret in the state but now it’s out of the bag.

For those of you that have bought BROVARNEYBAITS swimjigs in the past you will note that the insert card in the packaging for swimjigs with the new hook is a bright yellow instead of the old model with the pale yellow cards.

At this time we may be a little slower than usual with our delivery because we are no longer shipping the old style hook. We should be caught up soon and back to our quick ship standard for both standard and custom jigs.

As always we thank you for your support and look forward to providing you with the best product that we can.

That’s awesome Dan. I know I appreciate your obsession with quality and from the guys I have fished with and talked to, I am not the only one. keep up the good work, and when I get a good chunk of change and pay off my current expenses, be looking for an order for some of those from me soon!

Zomby – they make great prefishing jigs!

These new hooks are incredible! If anyone wants to see them in a jig I’ll be rolling into Lacrosse tomorrow and will be there throughout the BFL on Saturday.

This jig is the whole package now!!!

Glad to hear that. Bassbaron and Kizew turned me onto your swimjigs this spring and I have caught a ton of fish on them. I have been going through them quickly as the hook point keeps breaking off and although I resharpen they do not last long. I will probably be reordering soon.

Not only are these great jigs…but the customer service is excellent!

If you have thought about trying some swim jigs but are not sure what to buy….they offer some great starter packages that have 4 different colors of jigs and 2 packs of the right sized grubs.

Great way to test the waters!
