I made it out last night and fished some of my favorite sandbars. They bite has been slowing down… probably because i fish them every day … So i decided to totally switch up my technique. I mananged some pretty good fish. I had one smallie that would pounded my lure multiple times before finally getting it. This picture does not do this fish justice. I was in my flat and had neither a scale or a tape but i would guess this fish in the low fours but pushing 23inches. this is def the longest smallie i have ever caught. Another amazing thing was that when i stopped cathching fish i got snagged right up in the honey hole. I went in there to get it out and as soon as a reversed the trolling motor in about 2/3feet of water, i must have kicked up dirt and stimulated baitfish or blew some around becuase all around my boat smallies where nailing the surface. I grabbed the nearest rod and drug a bait along side the boat and hooked a solid three pounder. next thing i know i have two smallies on the same lure. One ended up falling out but it was still a blast. Very interesting though? I have big plans this summer for triggering feeding smallies.
Big action on pool 8
