well everyone, I am new to pool 2, but sunday we had our first bass club tourney there and I was back down there again last night in the rain. I found that if you can find some deeper water by weeds with a hard sandy shore or rocks, with a dead log in the water, that is where the fish where hiding. we found a few places in the back waters that held hardley any current, fished an outkast camo jig-n-pig with a camo colored chunk bait. we caught both smallies and largies on the same bait. more smallies by the rocks and the largies by the hard packed sand. still had a few fish that where on beds, a few of them still had bloody tails from fanning. we fished the jig with a slow rod tip twitch, usually got hit on the fall back down. the club did manage to put alot of leagals in the boat, our starting length was 14″ and we where doing a paper tourney. just thought I would pass along the info, looking to hit a few lakes and maybe be back down there again on monday. sure hope this helps.

I’m kind of new to the bass fishing on Pool 2. There are largemouth down there? I’ve caught a few smallies there but no largies. Are you south of 494 or north? I’d love to be able catch one (largemouth) down there.

Id be willing to bet he was well south of 494. The smallie action is decent on the upper stretch, but largmouth are few and far between.
