Well, a bunch of us fished Pool 7 Last Night…

Not proud to say that the nite was TOUGH…

7 guys fished for 3 hours and produce 3 keepers, 2.8, 2.2, and 2.0 We sat around the landing and were discussing that while we were fishing, we were all worried the others were nailing the fish… The water was lowerer in both level and flows and the high pressure system building in… Fishing HAD to be good… Turned out, no need to worry!

Personally, I started throwing cranks and tubes on the rocks and damns and turned up absolutely nothing. A bunch were picking up short on the tubes, but nothing.

So, I moved to the sloughs with spinners to find some fish, got the 2.0 in the grass… slowed down pitching a jig-n-pig for nothing.

So, as the evening moved on and light got lower, I decided to go top water… had a large number of blows, some serious fish, but nothing to the boat. Had a few on, but lost in the slop. The slop fishing on 7 is picking up for sure.

The rest of the crew had similar results.

Worth noting was the in the last 15 minutes (8:15-8:30 PM) the smallies TURNED ON near rocks with current! But, I only boated a half dozen fish under 14″… nothing for the livewell. However, the action after a slow evening was very much welcomed by the fish gods!

All in all, tough bite but a great day to be on the water.

Anyone else get out last night anywhere? Pool 7 was plain DEAD last night. Only saw 2 or 3 other boats, and they were anchored… probably cat-fishing or walleye-fishing.

    Out – The Reel Guy.
