I posted this on the Tournament site yesterday.

We ended up with great weather for our first tournament of the year. We had 5 teams show up for this event on Pool 13. Fishing was tuff for some of us and down right amazing for others. We had some great fishermen and some great fishermen post a big 0.

    1st place
    C. Gillette/Brown 5 fish 15 pounds 3 ounces
    2nd Place
    E. Dietrich/G.Brown 4 fish 12 pounds 13.5 ounces
    3rd Place
    J. Staats/R. Pollick 1 Fish 3 pounds 6.5 ounces
Big Bass was E. Dietrich 4.13

My partner and I caught one fish all day that was good enough for 3rd place. I stayed in Spring lake all day and paid for it. The water finally hit 60 at 1:45 and right away I lost one that was 4 pounds at the side of the boat. I caught my one fish with 45 min left on a spinner bait. OF all the boats that I talked to in spring lake not one person had more then 1 bass. The guys that took 1st and 2nd left spring lake. With the winners catching 20 fish over 14″ . They fised an area that I did not even think about going We had a great time and I can’t wait for the next tournament. Its going to be more my style of fishing

That is interesting, Imostly fish 16 and 14 for walleyes but i wanted to do more bass fishing this year, iuse to do alot of it but only in lakes. so today at work i was talking to a guy on my delivery route in dixon, who fishes alot of tournements on 13 ,and i was asking what do i look for to catch bass in the river,he said to come up there and go to Spring lake, because it is alawys good .so i couldnt wait to get home and ask on here if anyone ever fished there. i turn on the computer see this post my new hot spot already sucks and i havent even been there yet.just kidding sounds like it must be pretty good at times . where is a good place to put in at to fish there?

Todd, do not discount Spring Lake yet. It is a big place and is full of fishies. Better tighten your drag a bit if you are gonna fish for those beautiful green fish, not like reeling in a wet sock. LOL.

Don’t count out spring lake!!! It is normaly one of the best spring and early summer spots on the river. The water looked as thought it was almost turning over like a pond. I say give it 3 days and it will be on!!
