I am DEFINITELY fishing Catfish Days and recommend it to all. It is the one tourney a year that is more “fun” than others… probably due to the fact that it revolves around a family type festival – Catfish Days.

The Fishing Tourney has 2 divisions: Walleye and Bass

It is a Team Event (2 fisherman per boat)
    4 limit on Walleye
    6 limit on Bass
    $100 per boat entry fee
    Pools 5, 5a, 6, 7, 8, & 9
Lauch start is on the south side of the Tremealeau Damn.
Fliers for the event can be found at Mary’s (Bob’s Bait and Tackle) and at Gander. I’m sure others have them, too.
This Friday is the pre-tourney meeting. You can enter there.

Last year ~125 boats were entered, I think ~65 boats were Bass fishing… my partner and I have finished Top 15 each year… always just out of the money… Hoping this year turns the tide… fishing this year with my dad in his new Ranger…

There are a LOT of father/son combos in this event… if my memory serves me well (Monday morning… could be a stretch) 1st and 2nd place went to father/son combos.

Lots of locals fish this tourney. You will have people from out of town, of course, but you will have everything from 21 Ft Bass rigs with 250Hp to 12 foot john boats with a 25 Hp… last year someone is a small flat took home some $$$. Good for them!

Only requirement on the boat is to have a working livewell.

Whew! Hope to see you all out there!

This year they have a minimum $1000 payout.

    Depending on # of boats…
    6 AM – 2PM
    6:15 AM – 2:15PM
    6:30 AM – 2:30PM

    Also, for those who inquired…
The time and location of the Friday night’s pre-meeting is:
Regristration is 6:00-7:00 PM @ the Trempeauleau Sportsman’s Club Building on 2nd Street. The meeting actually starts at 7 for those who have pre-registered.

Hope to see you all there!

Maybe I’ll see ya there ReelGuy. I’ll be fishing it with my wife in the bass division. You are very right on the family deal. It is a real fun tourney also. Did they change the bag limit this year? I knew it was 8 last year.
Well probably see ya on Saturday.

Yes, the bag limit was reduced for both Bass and Walleye.

Bass division prior was 8 fish, this year is 6.

Walley division prior was 6 fish, this year 4.

Hope to see the crew out there! Should be fun!
