Well I have a tourney on pool 8 this weekend and thought i would make a post to post my results of pre fishing for this week. so far, the results are not too good. At least not as good as I would like. I think today really helped the water warm up though and the fishing should be getting better by the day. Yesterday Justin and I spent a lot of time scouting around the middle section of the pool and did not find much going on in most backwaters. I did catch 1 15″ keeper on a spinnerbait but that was it. Today I road my bike to some pool 8 banks and found 2 takers. 1 was a keeper 14″er on a rat-l-trap. The other was just a dink on a spinnerbait. The good news is that I think that keeper is a sign that they are starting to move on to the transitional points and drop offs that they come up on every year. Last year at this time, I had fish all over similar structures in several locations dotted throughout the pool. Hopefully I’m right about this and can better investigate the next few days. I’ll keep an update.

I finally broke into the patterns I was looking for today. Just like I thought, that keeper yesterday was a hint at what I figured would be coming soon. Today I caught 28 bass, 6 of which were keepers. It was a pretty dinky 5 fish limit for only around 10.5 lbs but it gave me some good confidence going into the weekend. All the fish were just scrawny 14-15″ers except for a 16″er and a 17-1/2″er. I am amped up and ready for this tournament. I am going to fish one more area tomorrow and hope that it is the same results there. After that I am going to leave the fish alone until Sat. morning. Hopefully everything goes according to plan!

You may know where I am but most people don’t know how to run back there
