It appears that they’ve stopped making the 3X style of plastics and they’ve introduced a line up comprised of Elaztech(which oddly enough sounds like their current 3X line). On top of that, I don’t see any creature baits in the soft plastics section of their online catalog. One would figure a company like Strike King would have at least one style of creature bait like a Brush Hog.

    Here’s some info on Elaztech.

    • Made with the new patent-pending ElaZtech technology, and these are the strongest and most durable fishing lures on earth, meaning this new super plastic bait will outfish, outlast and outcatch any lure you’ve ever used before
    • With unmatched strength and lifelike buoyancy, you can pull them, stretch them, snap them, even lift lunkers right into the boat and they won’t break
    • We offer chrome, glitter, hologram, camo, and black scale patterns as well as any number of custom patterns
    • Scientifically proven that the ElaZtech Lures are the strongest soft plastic lures on earth
    • Lures made with a patented reflective foil developed exclusively by 3M
    • Only the ElaZtech fishing system comes with the exclusive “no snag” weedless trigger hook so you can fish deep down, in the thick of things, right where the big fish live
    • Each lure has an exclusive, “zero gravity” buoyancy, which can be fished on top water, suspended sub surface, run like a racing minnow, a crippled minnow, a popping top water frog
    • Guaranteed to last at least ten times longer than normal lures – that means TEN TIMES more fish

I am wondering what everyone’s else opinion of the 3X plastics are?
I have numerous packs of strike king 3X and have had very minimal success using them. i wondering if because they are soo stretchy and indestructable that it deters fish from believing it’s real.

I haven’t used the 3X variety, but I love(d) using the Terminator brand. I believe they are out of production now. They were so soft and the action was great. When a Bass sucked them in, there was no question you’d get a great hook up.

I was using their creature baits. The worms were frustrating beyond belief. They hit a limb or blade of grass and the tail would whip around it wrapping itself about 3-4 times. That got old in a hurry.

They also worked great weightless in slop. It was something the fish hadn’t seen and the profile was a lot different.

I like the 3x jig trailers- the claws float up and they stay on your jig as long as you have the jig. I have not been a big fan of the tubes/creatures/etc because i find it difficult to keep them on the hook- they slide down very easy and you pretty much have to texpose them and skin hook it (imo). I like the finesse worms but dont use a screw in finesse hook – takes forever!

If you go to [censored] Sporting Goods they have a Strikeking Kreature bait in the Shaw Grigsby line. It looks alot like a bacon rind but the tail has the little tassels on the end of the tail. I do not believe they are the 3 x

Hopefully for the sake of Strike King plastics, their new elaztech is nothing like the Snap Back worms…terrible, just terrible. But they do last forever!
