What do people think would be the best lure for finicky spring bass? (their very shallow too)

I was thinking a small tube. Wacky rigged senko, regular senko, or even ringworm.

Or would it work to throw some sort of topwater to trigger an uncontrollable reaction strike?

I saw a bunch of bass yesterday but none would bite. Tonight I am going to go give em hell though.

Let me know what you guys think?

If the plastics don’t work, I might try burning a Rattle Trap in front of their face or a jerkbait.

Good Luck – hope you get them!

Buzz bait, bubbling a spinerbait, or pop-r might work also.

Hmm..where was natureboy??? My buddy Justin went in there yesterday too. Said he saw ya. Well we always get em on senkos but a small finesse worm does the trick on a T-rig as well..I’ll be down tonight to see how it is. I’ll let you know

It seems like you just can’t catch fish in this place with power techniques. I have caught a couple on small spinnerbaits but plastics seem to be the way to go. It’s always heavily pressured in the spring so finesse seems to be the only way to get bit Its good to know they are in there though..I have been going there for the last couple weeks and haven’t seen anything yet. can’t wait for tonight

Took the words right out of my mouth…

My first thought would be to suggest some sort of reaction bait, but when all else fails, go to finesse. Or maybe dragging a jig. A short worm, shakey head, or small tube would probably do the trick.

After re-reading my post…just throw your tackle box at them until they bite!

For the tragically un-hip, it means On The Water. In order to use such ‘fly’ lingo, one must possess a “more righteous than you” union card.

Springtime? Bass in shallow water? two options: 1. Zoom trick worm, weightless, texas rigged in Bubblegum or 2. Zoom 6″ watermelonseed lizard, weightless, texas rigged…toss on bank…drag back in…works like a charm…dont’ be afraid to deadstick it…

additional quotes used with this card include: “I’m on them big time” “I’ve got 3 or 4 schools going”, and my favorite, “you should have been here yesterday”

Well slop should take some credit here. He was right, I was wrong. People were catching them in this area on plastics, But I caught all of my fish tonight on a suspending jerkbait. I proceeded to lose my jerkbait and caught 1 more on an X-rap. Check my report

Horny Toad, weghtless “T” rigged swim bait, and the dreaded Chatter Bait worked for me yesterday in what sounds to be the same type situation. My results were limited but did manage a few. Area I was in was loaded with gills and small minnows…too much real food to go around was my thinking.
