I believe I can flip any cover with 14lb Sugoi with no fear of breaking my line. Call me crazy, but I started using this last year and have never snapped my line even on snot rockets. I always end up cutting my line if I get a tough snag.

I am not familar with this product. Braid, Mono, Flouro, Hybrid? Do you have to use scissors to cut it, the boat clete trick, or nail clippers? Does it sink or float?

Sugoi…never heard of it…
Its Japanese for sugar
Its a fluorocarbon distributed by Yamamoto baits. Pretty tought stuff with not a lot of memory compared to similar lines like CXX (my opinion) I use a scissors to cut it usually. Its got a low stetch and is pretty abrassion resistant. I used it C-rigging out on Sturgeon Bay last Aug and never broke my line once and didn’t have to re-tie that often
How much is the stuff? Have never seen it in stores, but have heard some seriously raving reviews on it. I hear its the best swim jig line you can buy. I’d have a hard time switching over power pro though even it if is good. Where can I find it?… I might be interested in trying that out if it isn’t too pricy
Cade,
The Yamomoto website has it at about $74 for a 656 yd bulk spool
I’d post a link, but I am not sure if I am supposed to?
Holy crap! this stuff must be the real deal I got 1200 yards of Trilene big game for 7.88
Like they say, you get what you pay for.
Bob’s Bait in LaCrosse carries this line. He has it behind the counter near the bulk spools After seeing the price, I now understand why it is not out on the main racks
Sugoi is freakin awesome, just don’t backlash it or your wallet will cry. I got the 17 pound and it is REALLY strong.
I bought one spool last year, used it the whole year, and it was good as new at the end of the year. The best flouro I have ever used for sure. Just wish it were cheaper.
definately the best flouro out there as i’ve tried about 90% of them. i would recommend the casting brand of sugoi vs. the clear as it casts better as the name imply’s. 16# is the cat’s a?>. As we all know, flouro is denser than water, hence it sinks. UV doesn’t break sugoi down, nor does it absorb water- which all mono and co-polymers do- which wrecks the integerity of the line. SO, i have left reels spooled up for a couple years at a time with no degridation of performance. And, performance is worth the price to me, in strength, casting distance, sensitivity.
UV does break sugoi down, nor does it absorb water-
Did you mean to say does not break down? Your english is as bas as mine.

Any merit to the argument that fluoro does not hold up well in cold water?
Well I’d say something about vanish transition not holding up well in cold water..but I think we all know that it doesn’t hold up…Period
I swear one of these days I’m going to have to break down and buy a spool. I keep hearing good things (except the price)…
transition is garbage, it has terrible memory i looks like your using a spring bobber when your flipping
geez, slop must be turning a new leaf- i seen him picking up a couple spools of sugoi this weekend!
Sugoi is unreal at how sensitive it is, and how abrasion resistant it is. Just like Jimmy mentioned it is expensive, but you do not need to replace it at often as mono or braid. About every two weeks, I will tie my line to my trailer hitch, and then walk the line out till all the flouro is out, and then pull hard for about 2 minutes, and the line is like new. This is a great way to say some money with this expensive line.
