Well, Mountain Man, you asked where the 10″er’s were… I found them all last night during a friendly pick up tourney. Between the few boats we had, NO ONE caught a keeper. All fish were 8″ – 11″… No worries, the 10″ class are still out there!

Question, and let me say, I truly want your opinion and your help…

The bite was REALLY tough last night. Fish have been cooperating quite nicely since Saturday, but not yesterday. Some observations: Water Temp Sunday = 69 degrees. Wednesday = 79 degrees. Water level was slightly down from Sunday and the current is significantly slower (Pool 7) yesterday. Where I was finding good fish the past few days, nothing there now. So I tried new/different water and presentations… still tough. I was looking for LGMB – found just some “dinks” in the grass. So, I moved to rip-rap for Smallies with tubes/cranks – absolutely nothing.

Help! Where have the fish gone? Not asking for specifics, just advice.

Or, I suppose, I might want to chalk this as one of those days…

Where were you finding fish in the past few days? Dropping water may suggest the fish had moved out toward deeper areas/more current. Warming temps have probably spurred the vegetation growth, maybe they are heading to the developing weeds and slop. Warmer temps and bright sunny conditions of yesterday probably had them looking for some overhead cover, weed or wood. Perhaps the fish are still migrating from the post spawn areas to their summer homes. Seems a bit late, but the summer was cold so far until last weekend.

Just some thoughts to throw out there.
