I’ve been catching accidental smallies for the past two weekends. Biggest one so far was two weekends ago at 18″. Lots of places to look for these guys between Everts and LD3.

Smallies love dragged ringies this time of the year!

try a white or a chartruese bladed spinnerbait in slack water near deep water cuts.or try shallow water that is 4 or five degrees warmer than the main river.you will never know what you might get.another good bait is a 5 inch rattlin rogue or a crank bait that is loud in color and rattle.fish them slow and set the hook hard the northerns should start snappin any time.if you can find a small feeder creek or spring that runs in is like a magnet.the shad love these spots and so do the northerns.good luck, dan

I know around the first of May can be awesome for big smallies within 3 pools of LaCrosse.

I hate to be so vague, but you can catch them good during that time on those three pools…

Bomber you gotta make sure to have a plan though. Gotta have a plan. I was going to say April 8th around 10:00. Gotta let that sun get out over the bluff first.
