This is a little late, but here goes…
Got out several mornings this past week and did really well. My brother and I had around 13 largemouth in one area, with most of them being “legals” plus two “kickers” coming in at around 17″. It was so much fun as bites were so frequent. The area had no current and the bass were up shallow…some on steeper rocky shorelines and some on logs. I think being out during the week was a definite plus in terms of avoiding the weekend rush (though last Sunday afternoon was also surprisingly productive). Shallow cranks worked OK as the morning went on, but I will refrain from discussing the hot lure as I think it is rarely used or perhaps overlooked. Now, what season would these fish be in? Is the spawn over or are they possibly yet feeding in a prespawn mode?
