    Good Luck to Ben Kurtz (Horny Toad) today! Ben is sitting in 6th place after Day 2 of the Stren Series on Bull Shoals, MO. I spoke with him and he is on a pretty good school of fish, he just needs them to pull up at the right time. Water temps have been high 40’s so the bite is really tough (you can see by the weights).

    Ben is an awesome clear water guy (Lake Geneva local) so I know he has what it takes. Plus, he runs a BLAZER .

    Ben is 21 years old and has a 4 pound advantage over Larry Nixon!

    It’s amazing a 21 year old guy can be that high up in such a great field, in addition to overcoming the handicap of fishing out of a Blazer!!!

    What was even more amazing was when I talked to last night, he wasn’t talking about trying to make the cut but how he was going to make up the 10 pounds to win. You have to love a guy with a winners mentallity!

    What’s even more impressive than a top 10 finish for my good buddy ben is that he did all his pre-fishing during his 21st birthday week and didn’t touch a drop of alcohol.

    Truth be told that Ben and I enjoyed a fine Miller product or two each night after prefishing.

    Ben deserves a tremendous amount of credit for placing in the top 10. He was at a lake he had never been to before (Bull Shoals) and during a time when the bite was extremely tough. There were honestly close to 100 pros and co-anglers that did not catch a single fish over 3 days of the tournament (I unfortantely was one of them).

    Congrats Ben!!!!!
