Nope. No flood this spring. Maybe a week or two of higher than normal water but no flooding. We’ve gotten a good deal of snow the past month but only the snow we received this past weekend has any substantial moisture content in it. The foot we had before this weekend was dry fluffy stuff that probably didn’t add up to more than a half inch of water and much of that was gone by the time this past weekend’s storm arrived. If we get a warm spell where the snow melts really fast while there is still frost in the ground then we might have some early flooding but it will be short lived. Besides with the lake and river levels as low as they are it would take tons of rain to get them up to normal levels let alone flood status. The Mississippi gets high every year with the spring run off but that is normal and usually only lasts a week or so. I could be way off on this but unless the heavens open up for 3 straight weeks I can’t see any major flooding this spring.
I doubt there will be any major flooding but hope the river is up a bit in late May and June. For whatever reason we tend to catch more Walleye, especially in the sloughs.

Well it sounds like we might just be getting that dumping….In the form of pretty much any type of precip you can imagine. I hope we get some highwater but not too quickly..I can deal with high water but don’t need a mud slide!
