Blue,
It is interesting that you put this up. I was thinking about something that receintly happened with me that is along the same line.
My Wife and daughter are going down to Biloxi this summer on a mission trip through or church to help rebuild. We are sending about 65 people (adults and teenagers) and the project is completely self funded. As part of thier fund raising there was a typical church feed (gotta love all that cajun food) and silent auction. How could I say no when my daughter asked if I would donate a day of fishing as one of the auction Items.
Wauwatosa Wisconsin is not a hot bed of the fishing world but the trip still went for $235.00. Better yet the second place bidder ask if I would be willing to do a second trip at the same price!!!!! I get two extra days of fishing and the mission trip gets the money.
IT doesn’t even have to be something that extreme. Every year I donate a tackle box to the silent auction for the school district fundraiser. It typically goes for about $60.00 to $80.00. I buy a small tackle box and go down the basement and purge. You know…..the stuff that you used to use…..or was to good a deal to pass up….or someone gave you for Christmas Stuff that you wouldn’t use anyway.
If you think about it there are ways for everybody to give.
Thank you for bringing this up and opening up some options for us.
