It seems a little early, but this weekend they were hitting the old Moss Boss hard here on the lake (Onalaska). We had a lot of short strikes, but the bigger ones really smacked them. Somebody pulled the plug on the lake and all the weeds were so thick and matted, I had to give the top water a try. White was the best color with a few on the chartreuse. A few went 4+ lbs, all LM. Kind of makes you jump when they explode out of the weeds like they do. Well that’s my report for now. Might be awhile before I get out on the water. Broke the second driveshaft on my motor this year and it is only Spring!! I guess I should not have bought a used motor. Good luck fishing.

Glad to hear the slop bite is starting. There is nothing better than watching the frog disapear in weeds and then the battle to removed the fish from there. Makes my heart pound a little just thinking about it.

Fish a small tournament away from the river (Big Green Lake)this past weekend and i caught a good limit on buzzbaits right next to the spawning females. Was quite fun actually..At the last BFL in Clinton I actually had a slpo bite going down there. Had problems hooking them, one because someone them didn’t really hit the frog (nosed them) second was I have a rod just set up for slop and didn’t bring it….who would da thought……..glad to hear the slop bite should be on then for LaCrosse……..
