Ranger-Rapala alliance 2/14/2007
Ranger Boats and Rapala announced today that they have formed a strategic marketing alliance and will cross-promote their products throughout the U.S. and Canada. Although terms of the partnership are still being finalized, it likely will include consumer-incentive programs in which buyers of a new Ranger could receive complete Rapala fishing packages (rods, reels, line, lures and tools).
Other possibilities include in-store promotions, joint advertising, tournament sponsorships, licensing agreements and other arrangements.
“We are excited about partnering with Rapala, the best-known name in fishing,” said Ranger president Randy Hopper. “This partnership will benefit both brands, and we look forward to leveraging the many opportunities it presents.”
Tom Mackin, president of Normark Corporation (Rapala’s U.S. marketing and distribution arm), said: “People who know fishing know Ranger Boats. Working together, we can focus our strengths on a customer we both understand very well — people who love to fish.”
