Roumers say you lost a couple fish that could have really put you in the money. Mental mental mental….
Good Job Chad!!!! Keep it up.
No offense to his boater, but I’m more impressed when the co-angler has a higher weight, I know from experience how tough it is to do better. Good job Buzzer. I hope you don’t let it go to your head !
thanks everyone tough fishing lots of pressure on these fish you almost had to hit them on the head to get them to bite every one said that pool 13 and 14 is tough and after coming back I belive them but I will definatly go back and fish again . I threw a spinner bait the first day and the fish wouldnt even look at it so I quit using it all my fish were caught pitching and fliping . This was a fun trip the only bad part was the drive home for graduation. A special thanks to JC for the info and help. P.S there needs to be a few rules set on locking through lucky noone got killed. This was a fun tourny and plan on fishing the whole circut Thanks everyone for your support
Mr. Buzzer congrads..nice to see others from this site saying the same..You right, when you say the fishing is getting better. I, myself had plenty of bite but only put 2 keepers in the boat..Believe it or not I had a great slop bite going on. But did I get some funny looks. As for the lock incidents..unfortunately that always happens. Ask the tourney winner Mr Samo what happened to him. Just say he was wet by the first stop. I speared a big wave to.. But why do you think that barge sat in the locks for almost 2 hrs..Hmm…But congrads again and if you are fishing all the BFL you got a great start…Now for LaCrosse…
As a newcomer to FTR, I figure I can add something to this post, so what better time to make an entrance. I was Mr. Samo’s co-angler in the BFL in Clinton. Yes you are correct we were wet. But more importantly we were alive. We hit into two waves…the first we were very wet, the second we almost sank. Two of his rods broke in half and went from the deck, over our heads and hung up on the jack plate/motor. I had water up to my stomach as I was sitting down, so water filled the entire sitting area, deck to deck. Thank god for double bilge and strong handles. As to Curtis’s performance on Sat…..of course not giving any spots away….patience won that tournament. 4 of the fish came from a 20’x 20′ area that he cast to 100 times if not more. He knew they were there from practice, and he bet the whole tourney on it. Word also was that 15 boats had been through there before us. We sat patiently as the water temp rose and so did the three pounders! As for my luck…not the best day for me. I lost a hog 4-5 lb on that spot and one other 2 lb to end up the day fishless. I will say, fishing these as a coangler is a great way to advance from an average fisherman to an excellent one.
So how did ya feel fishing with wet drawers all day
Sorry, been there. The last time is happened to be it was from a fricken tuna boat and it was about 45 degrees out. Talk about skrinkage.
Thanks for the info.. Good luck new time.

jmack-glad you survived with Curtis, must of still been a good learning experience fish with someone like him. And your right you can always learn from being a co-angler…and like me, at Clinton, I learned from my co-angler. Helped that he was a fish biologist from Clinton. As for the locks, to bad everyone is in a hurry…We got wet also, but not as bad a Mr Samo said, and you said..We went on the right side of the barge coming in. Just wish that when I was a co-angler I had the pleasure of fishing with some of “pro’s”….but learn from alot of everyday guys also…Hopefully if you fish LaCrosse your day will be drier……
